Resilience is the ability to maintain high levels of well-being in the face of adversity. While resilient people certainly experience negative emotions, these emotions do not endure. This course combines theory with experiential learning to: Explore concepts of neuroplasticity and the brain and body’s natural reactions to stress Develop and practice self care techniques that enhance resilience.
Shayna Hornstein is a registered physical therapist with intensive training from the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute of Boulder, Colorado. She works with people who live with stress-related and chronic illnesses and/or pain. For more than eighteen years, she has been working as a consultant, therapist and group facilitator to reduce the impact that stress has on morale, safety and communication in organizations.
