When are you open?

Monday to Thursday 9:00am–9:00pm
Friday and Saturday from 9:00am–5:00pm
Alternating Sundays from 12:00 noon–8:00pm

Where are you located?

We are located at the Diamond Centre For Living which is located at:
1459 Barclay Street, Vancouver, BC V6G 1J6

What does Friends For Life do?

We are a non-profit Wellness Centre which helps people mentally and physically with life threatening illnesses.

What is your demographic?

Our facility opens its arms to any sex, gender and race. We do require clients and volunteers to be at least 19 years of age. 

Can clients bring friends?

No, we do not allow clients to bring friends. We do find that while you are here you make new friendships and bonds with people going through the same emotional and physical issues.

Do people live at the house?

No, our main floor functions for Social and Nutrition Programs, our second floor consists of 4 treatment rooms, and our third floor is the office.

Is it hard to book appointments?

No, it is based on first come first served. So look over the week at a glance, and book an appointment with the Welcome Centre Host at 604.682.5992 ext. 0.

Can I be a client and a volunteer?

Yes, we do encourage clients to also be volunteers. Visit our volunteer list to see which positions would best suit you.

Do you have any off-site programs?

Yes. If you refer to the website you will note that we have programs that run off site as well. Some of these programs include, yoga, tai chi and massage.

Is Friends For Life a hospice?

No, Friends for Life is not a hospice. Though we do serve clients who are in the palliative stage of their care, our client base is quite broad concerning their health situations.
